PTFE thread seal tape is a PTFE film tape, commonly used for sealing pipe threads. The use of PTFE allows for an extremely low surface energy, which results in excellent anti-stick, non-wetting contact surfaces to be used in a wide temperature range. The tape functions as a deformable filler and thread lubricant. That results in a deeper seating of threads and it helps prevent the threads from seizing when being unscrewed.
Thread seal tape offers excellent fatigue resistance in applications involving flexing or vibration. The tape is also transparent to UV light and extremely resistant to oxidation, surface fouling, discoloration and embrittlement. Vanéflon offers three types of thread seal tapes:
Standard thread sealing tape
Gastec tape
DVGW tape
Standard thread sealing tape
The standard thread sealing tape can be used in non-critical applications such as domestic water pipes. It is available with different densities (low density, normal density or high density) to fit your applications.
Key properties:
Sizes: 12 x 0,08 mm, 19 x 0,10 mm, 25 x 0,10 mm
Length: 12 m
Soft, pliable and compressible
Universal chemical resistance
Low fibrillation
Color: white
Gastec tape
Gastec thread seal tape can be combines with each type of gas, steam, potable or hot water, oil, solvent or oxygen. It offers the advantage of a high stability in a wide temperature range: reaching from -240 °C to 240 °C.

DVGW tape
DVGW tape is a professional tape for use on large diameter coarse threads. They are often found in critical applications, for instance in combination with chemicals, solvents or under high and alternating pressure conditions. It will exhibit great stability in applications with temperatures ranging from -240 °C to 260 °C.
