Silicoflon O-rings are a top choice when the rubber elastic quality of the seal is indispensable but the application also requires better chemical resistance.
Silicone is a good option for the elastomer core because of its low Shore hardness, broader temperature range and greater elasticity than Viton. It is more suitable for sensitive applications where lower compressive forces are applied to energize the seal. FEP is used for all applications up to 205 °C and is resistant to virtually all chemicals and joined by an advanced heat moulding process to give a seamless encapsulation. PFA has the same properties as FEP but with greater heat resistance for applications above 205 °C.
Key properties
Resistant to agressive chemicals
Gas permeability
Adaptive sealing force of an elastomeric O-ring
Resistant to compression set/cold-flow issues of solid O-rings
